In which we think we're awfully photogenic.

Easter has come and gone-- and done so quite successfully, I might add.  The clever Bunny brought Owen a multitude of baskets and a little car for the master to drive.  The former held plastic eggs packed with Hot Wheels of every kind.  The latter is a new favorite, greeted with "Drive!  Drive!" each morning.

Why the Bunny brought a toy that not only had a horn, but one with options (barking, meowing, siren, etc.), I'll never know.

All of the practice Easter Egg hunting paid off as well.  Owen participated in the Williams family annual hunt.  Although we must admit he seemed a little disappointed to discover candy in the eggs instead of cars.

He got over it.  None of the chocolate was eaten, mind you.  Just mushed in his little fists and carefully smeared.

We may, however, have rehearsed the egg hunting and candy discovery too well.  Upon arriving home, we discovered that the Easter Puppy had hidden a few surprises for us on the deck.

"Egg," Owen said excitedly!  "Candy!"

I managed to kick the dog poop under the fence right before he got it.  The look he gave me was withering.

Beyond Easter, we've been learning about music and exercise at Gymboree.  Robin's been going for awhile.  Last Friday at Kindermusic and yesterday at Gymboree was my first hands-on.

Both times there was only one other dad in the room.  Both times there's never been one man happier to see another.  (And I include castaways meeting their rescuers in my claim.)

Godmother Norma also came by yesterday to take Owen to an Earth Day Show.  It was very fun as was taking Norma to the much beloved park afterward.

Now the education hasn't been all one way.  As you can see from the pictures below, right, we not only taught Norma how to blow dandelion fluff but also how to pose for Gap ads.

We're also teaching about "nice cars."  The next door neighbors just bought a shiny new black Mercedes.

"'Cedes," Owen explained to me on our walk.  "Nice."  He then proceeded to gently pat the car, examining all sides before planting a particularly slobbery kiss on the door.

I confessed to the neighbors that Owen had messily kissed their fresh-washed car.  Brian nodded understandingly.

"He should," he said.

Mom and Dad learned, too, about how good we have it.  We went to a fund raiser for Operation Breakthrough on Friday.  It's a great program that helps give a head start to kids who need it.  Seeing the little kids sing, dance and shyly hand-out programs was motivation enough.  After watching the video about the program you couldn't help but donate to such a worthy cause.

The fund raiser had a silent auction as well and Robin and I are now proud owners of a whole collection of stuff.

I was telling aforementioned neighbor, Brian, about the experience while cleaning up yard clippings with one of our items.

"I was outbid on the evening of Jazz, but no one challenged me on the yard blower/vacuum."

"Fate's trying to tell you something."

Some lessons are pretty hard.
