In which a muggle arrives at Hogwarts.

Yes, the House of Slytherian would surely not approve, but it is true.  A muggle has been admitted to the school of Harry Potter, Ron and Hermonine.  And while it's not as dire as, say, a Dudley Dursley, more change is certainly in the air.

With Daddy Hess making the transition to working in Boston and Mama taking a "little break" from her job at LionShare, it was agreed that we should try to update the journal a bit more frequently, and Donn passed the webmaster title to me.  You can see how well it's going...

So, expect more of a "photo journalist" approach for a few months, as I am a far better photographer than writer.

June and July found Owen still happily going to school at Alpha Montessori.  He took soccer lessons, computer tots classes, swimming, and a class called "Virtues", where they learned about love, kindness, forgiveness, gratitude, and, well, you get the idea.  I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but during that week our young Jimmy Carter told Mama that "you need to go to virtues class!"

I sat in on a couple of swimming lessons and was amazed at the progress they made in just one week.  There was no asking if they wanted to put their faces in the water, just Ms. Wendy counting to three and then whooshing them under.  You can see proof in the pictures.

The biggest event during these past two months was the celebration of Birthday Number 3 at The Little Gym.  It was a big success, with many of Owen's friends from school in attendance.  Owen is still talking about the party, and somehow understands how special it is that his friends showed up.

Incidentally, Owen has not lost his puppetmaster skills.  Check out the picture on the left where he has instructed Grandpa and Grandma Gloria on where they're permitted to sleep during naptime.

Another milestone was the first visit to the dentist, where he sat happily in the chair and did everything Dr. Persson asked, ending up with a new Winnie-the-Pooh toothbrush.

Somehow Mama was convinced to visit the KC Zoo in early July.  Lisa, Tad and Holly agreed to meet us there on one of the hottest days of the year to date.  We sweated through the African area and somehow missed the kolas who are the current star attractions.
