Happy Valentine's Day
In which we attend parties and don't attend parties and in between commit forgery.

Some people will go to the ends of the earth for a party.

ALL of the Americans came over last night.  It was great fun and young master Owen debuted his Valentine's Day togs a day early.  (You can see the unveiling, last picture at left.)

It was a nice test run for the arrival home.  How would the Puppet Master behave when swarmed by large numbers of strange faces?

Very well, actually.  Despite a little wide-eyedness and a death grip on both Mom and Dad, the PM was the belle of the ball.  All of the prospective parents gathered to coax a smile or a giggle and a few got in a little holding time.  Then the vodka came out (the good Kokshetau stuff) and it was time for PM to hit the hay.

This was a good party.

As expected, the young socialite had no interest in missing cocktail hour.  He kept Puppet Mommy singing and dancing for a good hour before he decided to nod off.  This was a new I'm-not-going-to-bed trick.  Instead of screaming and thrashing, he was coos and smiles.  When I went up to check on him, I got the full sunshine.

"DON'T smile at him," Robin hissed at me from the floor where she was hiding out of eye contact.  "It's a trick!"

I dutifully averted my sight and went back to my glass of Kazakhstan wine (new and improved with extra sweetness!)

At the end of the night, the Stannards and the Murphys invited us all to join them at the hotel for the big Kokshetau Valentine's Day dance.  Robin and I got our first taste of impending parenthood social life when we had to say thanks, but no.  Can't get a babysitter for the night.

Hope they're having fun right now and not worrying about us snooping through their stuff while they're gone.  No siree, bob!  We wouldn't do that...

Anyway, as we passed another exciting day waiting for the big event that we couldn't go to, Robin organized our pictures on-line and I forged pictures for the McCalls.  It seems that the McCalls had set their camera one day off and didn't have a photo dated for their first visit on the fourth.  Nothing a little Photo Shop can't cure!  I swapped out the numbers for the correct date-- good as new!

When this Kazakhstan gig is up, there may be some new career options out there for me...
